Director of Education's Welcome
Mrs. Allyson Schoen
Welcome to The Academy of Moore County!
I am Allyson Schoen and I have been The Director of Education since 2009 and employed with The Academy since 2004.
In 1981, upon completion of my degree in EMCE at The Ohio State University, I began my teaching career in Columbus, Ohio. From there, I taught in both the public and private sector in Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.
Growing up in a family of educators paved the way for my career in education. My belief is that all children can and will learn if they are placed in a positive environment and are given high expectations and continuous nurturing.
Being a part of The Academy of Moore County has been a remarkable experience for me. Having the opportunity each day to interact with our wonderful students, families, and dedicated teaching staff is a tremendous privilege that I value.
Mrs. Allyson Schoen
Director of Education
Welcome! My name is Christina Singh and I am privileged to be your Assistant Principal this year. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York, but have called North Carolina my home for the last five years.
I completed my undergraduate degree from the City University of New York-Hunter College in History. I then earned my master’s degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. I continued my studies and earned my doctoral degree from Grand Canyon University in 2016 in Educational Leadership.
I will begin the 2019-2020 school year in a new position. The previous four years I have directed both testing as well as the special education programs. As well, I am a military spouse. Having such a diverse background has provided me with the opportunity to serve the school in several capacities.
This year I am beginning an exciting new position as Assistant Director of Education here at the Academy of Moore County. I look forward to working with both students and parents.
I can be reached via email or telephone.
