The Academy of Moore staff is taking all the appropriate steps to help reduce the spread of sickness. We ask that you as a parent or guardian keep your child at home if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever or chills

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Cough

  • Shortness of Breath

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Fatigue

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Muscle or body ache

  • Diarrhea

  • Headache

If your child has these symptoms, please keep them home and contact your doctor. If the doctor feels it’s not necessary to be seen, they can send a note electronically. Please do not come to school with any of these symptoms.

If vomiting or diarrhea only happens once and the child feels better within 24 hours, there is no need for a doctor’s note. If the headache goes away within 12 hours, a doctor’s note is not needed as well.

Policy for Stuffy Noses: If your child has a stuffy nose and any other symptoms, keep them home and get advice from your doctor. If it is only a stuffy nose and the child is energetic and has a history of allergies, please continue administering non-drowsy allergy medicine. You may send the child to school with allergies if we have a note from the doctor stating it is a known medical condition and the only symptom is a stuffy/runny nose.
